St. Michael’s in Penn Yan welcomes a new principal

There is a fresh breeze blowing through the halls of St. Michael School in Penn Yan. Father Leo Reinhardt and the St. Mike’s school community are pleased to announce that Mr. Thomas L. Flood has accepted the position of Principal beginning immediately. Mr. Flood earned a B.S. in Health and PE from Findlay University in Ohio and a M.Ed. in Administration from St. Bonaventure University. Mr. Flood served the Honeoye Falls-Lima School District for 30 dedicated years – first as a teacher and then as the Athletic Director (along with other administrative positions peppered throughout). Wanting to stay busy in retirement and continue with his passion for education and athletics, Mr. Flood both taught Organizational Management and coached Men’s Basketball at Keuka College for five years. A summer resident of “The Bluff” in Penn Yan for many years, Mr. Flood is familiar with St. Michael School and is excited to bring his wealth of experience for the benefit of the school community. St. Michael’s new principal comes highly recommended from Bob Duffy, former Mayor of Rochester and Lt. Governor; Dave Paddock, former Fairport and SMS Principal; and Joseph Burke, former president of Keuka College. “I am very excited to be a part of the great education and traditions of St. Michael School.” states Mr. Flood. He is eager to help promote the faith-based education that the school provides and the fundraisers which make this possible. Fundraisers include the annual Golf Tournament in August, the Turkey Trot 5K on Thanksgiving, the Cash Bash drawing in April and Bike the Bluff in June. St. Mike’s raises over $100,000 each year to provide families with a high quality alternative to public education. Students receive a well-rounded education in religion, math, English, history, science, physical education, art, Spanish, computer literacy, music and band. St. Mike’s is accepting registration for students entering Preschool through the 5th grade. If you are interested in enrolling your child, taking a tour, volunteering or otherwise supporting St. Michael School, please contact the school at 315-536-6112 or email at [email protected].
