On Thursday at approximately 7:36 pm the Village of Penn Yan Police arrested two individuals after a routine traffic stop. Police stopped a vehicle on Jacob Street after ,with having prior knowledge, Officers noticed that the individual was operating the vehicle on a revoked license.Alexander Bates,age 23 of Pultney,NY, was arrested and charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the 2nd. He is currently on parole and was detained on a parole warrant issued by New York State Parole and remanded to the Yates County Jail.The passenger, Deziree White age 21 of Penn Yan, was also charged with Facilitating Aggravated Unlicensed Operation since she is the registered owner of the vehicle and gave Bates permission to operate the vehicle.Both Bates and White were issued tickets to appear in the Village Court at a later date.
