The Geneva teenager that triggered a state-wide Amber Alert last month pleaded guilty Thursday morning to third-degree falsely reporting an incident. 16-year old Patricia Lynn Visco appeared in Geneva City Court with her parents and Attorney John Lorge of Canandaigua. It was Visco’s second court appearance; two weeks ago Geneva City Judge Timothy Buckley adjourned the case so the family could consult with an attorney.This morning Judge Buckley set sentencing in the case for March 16th. Over the next eight weeks Visco will have to report once each week in person and once over the phone to the Ontario County Probation Department. A pre-sentencing report will be written by probation officials. Judge Buckley told Visco the prosecution has agreed not to seek punitive damages, just a sentence of probration. Buckley also told Visco reporting to the Probation department was like “reporting to the principal’s office”. He also urged her to “obey her parents”.In an odd twist to the case, Judge Buckley started off the proceedings by handing back to the family a letter they wrote to him after their last court appearance. Buckley said he wanted “on the record” that he received the letter at his home address. He never opened the letter, and did not know its contents. Buckley said he could not accept the letter.Visco was reported missing by her parents shortly after 6 p.m. Dec. 1. An Amber Alert was issued and the ensuing search involved various police agencies, including the U.S. Border Patrol and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Police found Visco in the early morning hours of Dec. 2 at the Knight’s Inn on Electronics Parkway in the town of Salina, near Syracuse, with 22- year old Connor Izard, of 7426 Henry Clay Blvd., a man she met on the Internet. Visco will be back in Geneva City Court on March 16th.
