On April 22nd at approximately 8:58 p.m. investigators arrested a 27-year-old Waterloo man on attempted assault and menacing charges after a heated dispute with his roommate.
Sheriff Tim Luce says that Jon C. Lamere, 27, was charged with first-degree attempted assault and second-degree menacing. The attempted assault charge is a felony, according to Luce — who says that the entire incident involved a shotgun.
Lamere is accused of discharging a 20 gauge shotgun three times in the general proximity of the victim.
Deputies first on-scene apprehended Lamere at the scene without incident.
The victim was not injured during the incident — and wasn’t struck by any of the gunfire, according to Luce.
North Seneca Ambulance assisted at the scene.
Lamere was remanded to the Seneca County Correctional Facility in lieu of $2,000 cash bail or $4,000 secured bond.
An order of protection was issued.
New York State Police, New York State Park Police, and Seneca Falls Police Department also responded to the scene.
