On August 11, an Interlaken woman was arrested on a variety of welfare fraud charges.
Deputies in Seneca County arrested Sally A. Nieman, 30, of Interlaken. She was charged with grand larceny in the fourth degree — a Class E felony, misuse of food stamps — a Class E felony, and welfare fraud in the fourth degree — a Class E felony.
The charges stem from an investigation into Nieman receiving public benefits and not disclosing her income to Seneca County. She will appear in Waterloo Village Court on September 7, 2016.
