It doesn’t happen often, but Ontario County Sheriff Phil Povero said deputies sometimes have to respond to bomb threats or check out suspicious packages at places such as Eastview Mall. Later this year, the sheriff’s office will likely have a better way to determine if the threat is real or a false alarm.
