The Seneca County Sheriffs Office reports that on April 26th around 4:19 am, Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the area of County Road 138 and Yarnell Road for a report of a one-car personal injury accident. Deputies arrived on scene and observed a 2003 Chevy Van on the south side of the ditch on County Road 138. The vehicle was operated by a Ivan Zimmerman, 64 of Seneca Falls. The vehicle had 3 other occupants: Lydia A, Swarey, 60 of Seneca Falls, Leroy Swarey, 56, of Ovid, and Linda Swarey, 56, of Ovid. Zimmerman, Leroy Swarey and Lydia Swarey were transported to Cayuga Medical Center for minor injuries. The other occupant was uninjured. The investigation determined that Zimmerman was traveling South on Yarnell Road when he failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection of Yarnell Road and County Road 138. Zimmerman was issued UTT’s for speed not reasonable and prudent, failing to stop at a stop sign and failing to maintain designated lane. Sheriffs Deputies were assisted by South Seneca Ambulance, Trumansburg Ambulance, Ovid and Romulus Fire Department.
