Over a dozen charges for Waterloo pair after drug trafficking investigation

On February 19th at approximately 7:00 am two multi-agency search warrant teams responded to two addresses in Waterloo, the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports. The search warrants were executed at 21 ½ West Main Street and 29 Wycliffe Road, both in Waterloo. The warrants were obtained after an investigation into heroin and other drug trafficking that lasted several weeks. The search warrants were executed simultaneously and involved the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office, the Waterloo Police Department and the New York State Police. Daniel Paulsen, 49, of Waterloo was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, a Class B felony, criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, a Class D felony, criminal possession of marijuana in the second degree, a Class D felony, criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a Class A misdemeanor, criminally using drug paraphernalia in the second degree, a Class A misdemeanor, and criminally possessing a hypodermic instrument, a Class A misdemeanor.Items seized during the search warrant included a dagger, suspected heroin, over two pounds of marijuana, hypodermic needles and syringes, hydromorphone, packaging materials, and a digital scale. Paulsen was arraigned in Covert Town Court and remanded to the Seneca County Correctional Facility on $15,000 cash bail, or $30,000 secured bond. Paulsen will reappear in Covert Town Court on February 23rd at 11:00 am.Kley Greenfield, 33, of Waterloo was also arrested. Greenfield was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, a Class B felony, tampering with physical evidence, a Class E felony, and criminally possessing a hypodermic instrument, a Class A misdemeanor. Items seized at the address included suspected heroin and hypodermic needles and syringes. Greenfield was arraigned in Covert Town Court and remanded to the Seneca County Correctional Facility on $5,000 cash bail and $10,000 secured bond. Greenfield will reappear in Covert Town Court to answer the charges at a later date.The investigation into the suspected trafficking of drugs, which includes heroin is ongoing.
