Trumansburg boys basketball gets first win in late-January

The Trumansburg Blue Raiders notched their first victory of the season with a 54-44 win over the Groton Indians in a conference matchup at home Friday, Jan. 27.

In its last IAC matchup Jan. 23, Trumansburg stayed within four points of now North Large Division leading Lansing on the road and then were blown out 62-32 on the road by Maine-Endwell before returning home to play Groton.

“We’ve been struggling to finish them off,” Trumansburg coach Jeff Richards said. “Across the league and Section (IV) it’s quite a level playing field, everyone’s about the same level. We battle teams well, we’ve had leads in the first half or we’ll almost come back in the second half. It’s been a streak of things just aren’t going well.”
