Warming Soups & Stews Workshop
Wednesday, January 22, 2020 @ 11:30 pm - 12:30 am
$15
With temperatures and snow falling, winter is a perfect time to enjoy hot, hearty soups at mealtimes. By making soups at home you can choose your ingredients for a healthier option that is highly nutritious and cost effective. To help you in doing this, Cornell Cooperative Extension of Seneca County is hosting 2 workshops, one in Waterloo and one in Ovid, to be led by CCE Seneca’s Master Food Preservers and nutrition staff.
In this workshop, participants will:
-learn how to prepare homemade soups and stews from scratch, including making your own stock
-learn recipes and ideas for both vegetarians and meat lovers as we discuss making soup in a slow cooker, pressure cooker, or stock pot
-learn tips on how to safely can or freeze soups for later enjoyment
-be served a bowl or two of soup for tasting
-go home with recipes, nutrition information, and other materials
Space is limited. Registration is required. Register online at our website: www.senecacountycce.org. If you are unable to access the internet, please call CCE Seneca at 315-539-9251.
