Summit in the Valley
Saturday, May 6, 2017 @ 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Climate change is not just about polar bears on ice caps. We are fortunate that we don’t live in locations with drastic climate events such as severe flooding, mudslides and rising sea levels. Climate change is more subtle in our beautiful Finger Lakes. Learn how climate change is impacting our local environment. Local businesses and organizations will offer hands on activities to engage discussions about how climate is impacting our local flora and fauna. Participants will gain ideas on how they can make small changes in their habits that could improve our local environment. Speakers will share their research into zero waste, Citizen Science data collection, and water quality in our Finger Lakes. Enjoy music from members of the Cabin Killers, Big Blue House, and Mulberry Soul. BBQ and Pad Thai food trucks will complete the afternoon.
