Locks & Keys as Collectibles
Saturday, February 22, 2020 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Free
Plan on coming to “Key & Locks as Tools and Collectibles” on Saturday, Feb. 22 at 2:00 p.m. at the Geneva History Museum, 543 S. Main Street, Geneva.
Ethan Fogg will discuss how the purpose of keys and locks determines their designs and how their uses and technologies have changed over time. He will explain how locks work and what keys actuate them. You’ll find out what to do if you buy an item such as furniture or padlock or even a house that’s missing a key.
Locks and keys are collectible as well as useful. You will learn how to determine if your keys are valuable and/or rare. There will be a display of locks and keys to see and handle. Bring an unusual key and/or lock to show others.
Refreshments will be provided.
Hosted by the Antiques Club of the Finger Lakes.
