Chimney Bluffs Migration Hike
Saturday, September 9, 2017 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm
One of the most amazing natural phenomena on Earth is the autumn songbird migration. Warblers, Vireos, Flycatchers, Orioles, and Tanagers are leaving their breeding grounds in Canada and flying to winter in the tropics, and the Lake Ontario shoreline is a great place to encounter dozens of bird species. Join us on this family-friendly, 1-mile hike, led by an Audubon naturalist, to learn how to identify these songbirds and why the shoreline is a critical stopover habitat for migratory birds. (Limited number of binoculars included. If you have them, please bring them! We will caravan to Chimney Bluffs.). To register, call 315-539-5624.
Meet at: Seneca Meadows Education Center, 1977 State Route 414, Seneca Falls
Date: Saturday, September 9th, 9:00 am
Program Type: Family (Hike recommended for ages 9 and over.)
