CCHS Lunch & Learn: “A Bird’s Eye View”
Wednesday, November 2, 2016 @ 3:10 am - 3:50 pm
A bird’s eye view is a panoramic city map with its perspective from above. These maps were made of miniature sketches—hand-drawn—that when combined, showed an entire community in detail—every street and building. Popular in the 1880s, they were drawn by on-site artists, reproduced by lithography, and sold to the general public. Their purpose was to decorate Victorian parlors and to bolster a community’s economic activity. Bring your own lunch to enjoy during the talk and we will provide beverages and dessert.
