Sample a variety of cheese-inspired foods paired with award-winning wines that best complement them February 15-16 at the Keuka Lake Wine Trail’s annual Cheese and Wine Lovers Weekend.Event hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Wineries will use local cheeses in both savory and sweet dishes and pour signature wines to go with them. For example: McGregor Vineyards will be serving sharp cheddar fondue from Sunset View Creamery in Odessa, NY along with Swiss chard salad and apple slices, both served with Chef Lerman sauces made in Penn Yan, NY. Hunt Country Vineyards will serve cheddar broccoli soup and raspberry cream cheese bars paired with your choice of their Seyval Blanc or Classic Red. The one-year aged cheddar that will be used in the soup is made by Kutter’s Cheese, of Corfu, NY. Ticket price is $25 per person for a weekend ticket or $19 per person Sunday only and includes a souvenir wine glass and food and wine samples at each winery. Attendees can visit the Trail’s seven wineries in one day or plan an overnight stay to take advantage of the area’s other attractions. Visitors wishing to combine Cheese and Wine Lovers Weekend with a touch of Valentine’s Day romance may want to stay at one of the charming bed and breakfast inns or other overnight accommodations in the area.
