State Police arrested a 25-year-old Beaver Dams man following an investigation into an alleged rape.
Benjamin T. Smith, 25, was charged with second-degree rape after a two month investigation, which was initiated by State Police and the Steuben County District Attorney’s Office.
Smith is accused of engaging in sexual intercourse with a female less than 15-years-old. That incident was recently disclosed to authorities, which prompted the arrest.
State Police are also investigating other possible acts by Smith in New York — as well as Arkansas.
He was arraigned in Corning Town Court and remanded to the Steuben County Jail in lieu of $20,000 bail.
