Heavy rain pounding the region

Heavy rain is expected in the Finger Lakes on Thursday and Friday, according to forecasters, who note that the risk for flash flooding continues to grow.

An area of heavy rain and embedded thunder will roll into the Finger Lakes during the late-morning hours, and bring with it a serious risk for flooding in areas where significant rainfall has already been measured.

Flash Flood Watches are active for the entire region.
