While portions of the Finger Lakes region has seen improvements in the overall drought situation, with some beneficial rainfall in the last two weeks – the overall drought concern hasn’t subsided.
According to the Drought Monitor, the region remains in ‘Extreme Drought’ and earlier this week – the U.S. Department of Agriculture even classified the drought as a natural disaster, giving 15 counties in New York State access to loans that otherwise would not be available.
