Ithaca mulls paid parking on evenings, weekends

The City of Ithaca is losing money each year on parking and, as a way to increase revenue, is exploring the idea of paid parking on nights and weekends. Ithaca brings in slightly more than $3 million a year in parking revenue, city Chief of Staff Dan Cogan said. However, when factoring in costs like the debt for parking garages, the city is running a deficit of about $840,000 per year.
