A Waterloo man was arrested on felony sex abuse charges after the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office executed an investigation into a variety of allegations.
Sheriff Barry Virts reports that the victim was a resident of Lyons and that the allegations were of “ongoing,” indicating that the instances had occurred over a period of time.
Nicholas B. Mahar, 25, of Waterloo was charged with two counts of felony sex abuse in the first degree, and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
The investigation is ongoing, but Virts says that Mahar has been committed to the Wayne County Jail on $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 secured bond.
