A Yates County man has been arrested after attempting to hide under a blanket, then flee from police during a welfare check. Police say they responded to a residence on Mill Street in Middlesex for a welfare check, as he was wanted on an active bench warrant. Upon arrival, they say Jeremiah P. Mendez, Sr., 27, was located hiding under a blanket in a bedroom.
