Seneca Housing, Inc. is offering a course in home ownership using the “Realizing the American Dream” curriculum. We invite you to join us for this course, as the information provided will help you to achieve your goal of home ownership. The course is ten hours total, and includes information on what home ownership means (pros and cons, etc.), the banking/mortgage process, the process of finding a home, budgeting and money management. The classes are scheduled to take place on April 7th, 14th, 21st, and 28th of 2015 from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm at our offices, located at 11 Auburn Road, Seneca Falls, NY 13148. You must attend ALL FOUR SESSIONS in order to receive your course certification. This certification is required for eligibility for the First Home Club programs through Lyons National Bank, Generations Bank and Community Bank (these programs are sponsored by the Federal Home Loan Bank and offer 4:1 in matched savings up to $7,500 – for every dollar you save, you get 4 dollars as a match!). The course is also required for financing through USDA Rural Development, offering interest rates as low as 1%. After successfully completing the course, we will be meeting with each of you in one-on-one sessions to determine your credit-worthiness, help you plan a budget, and answer your questions. Some of you may not be ready for home ownership right away, but taking this course is a crucial first step. We will help you to repair any past credit problems, decrease your debt, establish good credit, and increase your credit score. We will continue to assist you through purchase of your home, as well as post-closing classes in home maintenance. We strongly recommend that all adult members of the household, who contribute in any way to household income, attend this course together. This way, you are all working together toward the common goal of owning your own home. There is a $50.00 per person or $75.00 per couple enrollment fee to cover the cost of the text book and class materials. Registration forms are available in our office or for download at www.senecahousinginc.org Sessions are limited to 20 people, and registration is on a first-come first-served basis. We still have seats available, so sign up today! Remember, if you have ANY DESIRE to own your own home, taking this course is the first step in achieving that goal. WE LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING YOU! If you have any questions, we are available at (315) 568-2200.
