SF dispute ends with crash in Fayette – FingerLakes1.com Archive

Seneca County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Town of Fayette man on numerous charges following an investigation into a Domestic Violence Incident. Arrested was Alvie Johns, age 34 of 3619 Route 89 in Seneca Falls. Johns was charged with Criminal Contempt first degree, Aggravated Criminal Contempt first degree, Aggravated Family Offense, Reckless Endangerment first degree, Attempted Assault first degree, Assault third degree, and several Vehicle and Traffic violations. It is alleged that on Monday morning Alvie Johns engaged in a violent encounter with a woman at a Town of Fayette residence. After being threatened and physically abused the woman fled the residence in a pick- up truck attempting to escape. Johns followed in a SUV and then rammed the woman’s vehicle twice causing both vehicles to crash on Seybolt Road near Stahl Road in the Town of Fayette. Johns continued to threaten the woman after the crash; the woman fled the crash scene and was located by Town of Seneca Falls Police Officers who assisted with the case. Alvie Johns was taken by air ambulance to Strong Memorial Hospital where he was treated and released, then taken into custody by Sheriff’s Investigators. The woman involved was also physically injured. She was treated at the scene and is seeking outpatient care. There was an Order of Protection in effect on behalf of the woman involved. This order was from the Town of Seneca Falls Court and prohibited Johns from engaging in any threatening, menacing, harassing, or criminal behavior. The Criminal Contempt charges stem from the alleged violation of this order. Johns was arraigned in the Town of Fayette Court and was committed to the Seneca County Correctional Facility on no bail. A full stay away Order of Protection was issued by the court. Victim’s Services were called and caseworkers responded to assist the woman involved. This case is still under investigation and further charges may be pending.
