CBS features Seneca White Deer on national segment (full segment)

Earlier this month film makers from CBS were in Seneca County filming a segment, which aired on Sunday.

The segment, which was featured during the 10 a.m. hour on CBS Sunday Morning with Jane Pauley – is now available in extended format by clicking here.

Dennis Money, President of Seneca White Deer, Inc., called the attention a ‘big deal’ for his organization’s efforts to celebrate the uniqueness and history of the site. “As you might expect to get on a national TV program for even 1-2 minutes is a big deal and we sincerely appreciate how the local media has picked up on this ‘event’,” he explained. “This is a great way to kick off 2019.”

Carl Mrozek, who filmed the segment for CBS called the deer ‘ghostly’ and called the herd one of the more-unique happenings in nature. “They’re not albinos, but are leucistic, meaning they lack all pigmentation in the hair, but have the normal brown-colored eyes. Bottom line is that they’re kind of spooky and other-worldly and are the whitest things you are likely to see the rest of this year in much of the lower 48,” he said in an email.
