Corning will lose Market St. jewelry store after 126 years of operation (video)

For 126 years 31 E. Market Street in Corning has only been home to one business.

It’s Bong’s Jewelers, and was founded by the current operator’s great-grandfather. Jeff Bong will retire at the end of the month – marking the end of an era.

Jeff took over in 1975; and he’s run the jewelry store in the heart of Corning for all those years since.

In this special feature by Rachel Midey, of WYDC-TV, Corning’s Fox affiliate – Bong discusses his time in the business, and how customers became family over more than a century of operation.
