Marion driver charged with DWI after crash in Palmyra

Deputies say that a crash in Palmyra over the weekend resulted in DWI charges following an investigation.

William W. Huntley, 68, of Marion was charged with DWI, driving with a BAC over 0.08 percent, unlawful possession of marijuana, and other vehicle and traffic violations following the crash, which happened on Tellier Road in the Town of Palmyra.

Deputies say Huntley was traveling west on Tellier Road at an unsafe speed, failing to negotiate a curve causing the vehicle to end up in a ditch.

Upon further investigation it was determined that he was operating the vehicle in an intoxicated condition. His BAC was determined to be 0.15 percent, according to deputies.

He was issued appearance tickets and released to a third party.

The charges will be answered at a later date.
