First responders from Ontario County were called to a one-car crash in Phelps late-Wednesday, and as crews from Phelps and Clifton Springs contended with the scene – a vehicle burst into flames.
The crash happened along Route 88 and County Road 25 when a vehicle split a utility pole.

State DOT sent out a notification during the late-evening hours that traffic was being diverted as crews worked to replace the downed pole and power lines.
Traffic was restored within hours in the area of Route 88 and County Road 25.
