Search for second burglary suspect continues after Victor home invasion

                                                 Provided.

The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a 44-year-old Rochester man following the report of a burglary in progress in Victor.

The incident unfolded on Gillis Road, according to deputies, who say that a resident at that address witnessed an unknown male enter their house from the front door.

She hid in the bathroom and called 911. A deputy was nearby and arrived on-scene to find the suspect was loading the victim’s property into the back of his vehicle.

The suspect then fled and eventually crashed on Ayrault Road in front of the Fairport High School after striking two other vehicles.

Deputies say the suspect, identified as Sam Sides Jr., 44, of Rochester was taken into custody after the crash and charged with second-degree burglary.

He was remanded to the Ontario County Jail on no bail due to two previous felony convictions.

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office investigated the crash on Ayrault Road, in which there were no injured parties.

However, a second suspect, described as a white male, wearing blue jeans and a tan coat may have fled from the scene, according to deputies. A tip led deputies to the Green Road area of Farmington, which was searched by foot and air.

At this point, the second suspect remains at-large. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Sheriff’s Office at (585) 394-4560.
