The town of Skaneateles voted to confirm six members to Skaneateles’ first Hamlet Committee during a regular village board meeting Monday.
The idea behind the creation of the Hamlet Committee, said town Councilor David Badami last week, is first and foremost because the town and village’s join comprehensive plan calls for it. While committee members were just confirmed Monday, the town’s decision to form a Hamlet Committee was made at a Sept. 17 board meeting, minutes indicate.
In August, the town opened a public hearing for a developer’s application that required a local law that would change a 4311 Jordan Road parcel in Mottville from Rural Residential to Hamlet District zoning, Aug. 20 minutes indicate. The change would’ve allowed developer Christopher Graham to build and rent a 16-unit multi-family dwelling structure on a six-acre parcel with current zoning allowing for only four or five dwelling units.
