Deputies say a Williamson woman was taken into custody on felony DWI charges after nearly hitting a school bus head on earlier in the week.
On Monday around 3:13 p.m. deputies were dispatched to a traffic complaint where a vehicle almost hit a school bus on Ridge Road in Williamson.
Deputies located the vehicle in question, and executed a traffic stop when the operator failed to use a turn signal. Upon investigation, it was determined that the operator – Sandra A. Visconte-Larosa, 56, of Williamson was intoxicated.
Deputies say she failed field sobriety tests and was subsequently charged with felony DWI due to a previous DWI conviction. She was also ticketed for failing to stop at a stop sign and failing to signal.
Visconte-Larosa refused to submit to a chemical test.
She was released on her own recognizance.
