An ex-employee has been charged with stealing nearly $60,000 from the Cortland Standard over a span of five years, according to police.
The Cortland Police Department arrested 52-year-old Stephen W. Clark, after allegedly stealing $57,000 from the Cortland Standard, a daily newspaper.
He’s accused of stealing money and falsifying business records between October 31st, 2013 and August 2018.
At the time he was serving as the newspaper’s business manager.
The Homer resident was charged with first-degree falsifying business records and second-degree grand larceny, both felonies. He was released from custody.
