Normally a discussion group addressing contemporary issues, the Finger Lakes Forum will offer a special pro-gram of holiday cheer Monday, December 17th, at 6PM at Club 86.
Performing songs of the season will be the popular Cool Club and the Lipker Sisters. The Cool Club is made up of four veteran musicians who perform, like their original song says, “Jump, Jazz, Boogie-Woogie, Rag-Time and Swing.” The members are Rick Hoyt, guitar and vocals; Trevor Findley, bass; Joe Galusha, drums; and Tom McClure, sax, clarinet and flute.
The Lipker sisters, Marilla, Grace and Elizabeth, will remind people of the Andrews Sisters and today’s English trio, the Puppini Sisters.
The Finger Lakes Forum meets at 6PM on the third Monday of the month from October through April for dinner at Club 86 followed by a program and discussion. The December program traditionally is reserved for a holiday musical presentation, but other programs cover science, medical advances, education, the economy, items of historical interest and many more. Speakers are often obtained from such places as the University of Rochester, Hobart and William Smith Colleges, Cornell AgriTech, Cornell University, Syracuse University and Keuka College.
The Forum is a membership organization, but non-members may attend. Non-members will pay a drop-in fee of $10 plus $23 for dinner. The dinner choices this month are beef or chicken and reservations should be made by December 14th at [email protected]
