South Bristol home destroyed by fire early-Sunday

First responders believe a golf cart could be to blame for a South Bristol home being completely destroyed after a morning fire.

The call came in to dispatchers around 5:30 a.m. A neighbor spotted the structure burning on Longs Point Drive in South Bristol.

By the time first responders — including firefighters — arrive on-scene it was fully-engulfed.

Not only that, but it was mostly destroyed at that point.

The home was vacant. First responders say it was a seasonal property. Preliminary investigation suggests that the fire was started by a golf cart, which was stored in a garage.
