Two sent to hospital after two-car crash in Phelps

On Friday around 4 p.m. deputies responded to a two-car personal injury accident at the intersection of State Route 14 and Cross Road in the Town of Phelps.

Deputies say that Finger Lakes Ambulance, Phelps Ambulance, and Oaks Corners Fire Department responded to the scene in Phelps.

Upon investigation it was determined that Louis White, 57, of Geneva was traveling west on Cross Road and stopped at a stop sign — before proceeding through — pulling into the path of a vehicle operated by Daniel Tiballi, 74, of Geneva.

Deputies say White complained about hip pain and was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital by Finger Lakes Ambulance for treatment.

Deb Tiballi, 64, of Geneva — who was a passenger in the vehicle that was traveling down Route 14 — was transported to Geneva General Hospital by Phelps Ambulance. Deputies say she was complaining of chest pain.

Everyone was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident, according to deputies.

White was ticketed for falling to yield the right of way. The tickets will be returnable to Phelps Town Court.
