Deputies say an arrest has been made following a one-car accident on State Route 441 in the Town of Walworth around 12:06 a.m. on Thursday.
Derek J. Aquino, 27, of Walworth for driving while intoxicated, after driving off the side of the roadway — striking multiple mailboxes and getting stuck.
He then left the scene on foot, and was located in a body of water by deputies. They say the water was approximately waist high.
He was removed from the water, provided medical attention, and taken into custody.
Aquino was ultimately charged with DWI, and issued a citation for failing to keep right. He was released on appearance tickets and the charges will be answered at a later date.
Walworth Ambulance assisted at the scene, according to deputies.
