Deputies report that a 37-year-old Savannah resident was charged with DWI and other traffic violations following a one-car property damage crash that happened last week in the Town of Huron.
On November 20th at approximately 9:36 p.m. deputies responded to an area of Ridge Road in Huron for the report of a vehicle with heavy front-end damage.
Deputies say that they received the report of a vehicle with heavy damage from a concerned motorist.
When patrol arrived on-scene they found Christopher R. Hoover, 37, of Savannah, who said that he was the operator of the vehicle.
The vehicle sustained heavy front end damage and driver side damage with the left front and rear tires missing. Following the marks on the roadway from the damaged vehicle – deputies were able to determine that the accident actually took place on Wayne Center Road in Lyons.
Deputies say he collided with a guardrail and continued driving after the wreck.
He was found to be intoxicated, and subsequently charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, driving with a BAC over 0.18 percent, and leaving the scene of an accident.
He was processed at the Wayne County Jail and released.
Charges will be answered in both Huron and Lyons Town courts, according to deputies.
