A Benton man was arrested on felony charges following an investigation into the sale of controlled substances in Yates County.
Police say 46-year-old Scott Thornton, of Benton was arrested by officers on a superior court warrant issued in Yates County Court on felony drug charges after a lengthy investigation.
He was charged with felony criminal sale of a controlled substance and felony possession of a controlled substance.
It is alleged that Thornton sold cocaine in Yates County to an agent of the Penn Yan Police Department.
As result he was arraigned and remanded to the Yates County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond.
