DeVito preparing to start for Syracuse if Dungey can’t vs. BC

Syracuse football’s Tommy DeVito prides himself on preparing like a starter. This weekend, he might actually fill that role for the first time in his college career.

The redshirt freshman quarterback is in line to wrap up a rollercoaster of a regular season at Boston College if senior Eric Dungey (upper-body injury) is unable to suit up.

SU head coach Dino Babers has shared little information this week regarding Dungey, who reached for his lower-right back before dropping to the ground between plays against Notre Dame on Saturday. Babers said only on his weekly radio show Tuesday night — his last media opportunity of the game week — that “if anyone can pull it off, it’ll be him.”

And if not, DeVito will be ready having gone through 11 game weeks with similar preparation.
