Murder of Michele Neurauter in Corning to be featured on NBC’s ‘Dateline’

The Steuben County murder of Michele Neurauter will be featured Friday night on NBC’s “Dateline.”

Michele Neurauter, of Dwight Avenue in Corning, was strangled Aug. 27, 2017, and her death was staged to look like a suicide. Her ex-husband, Lloyd Neurauter, 48, is expected to be sentenced in December on first-degree murder and related charges.

“Dateline’s” coverage of the case, titled “The Ultimatum,” includes an interview with Michele’s mother, Jeannie, and her younger sister, Karrie. Lloyd’s friends and detectives involved in the case also will be featured.

The program airs at 10 p.m. Friday.

The murder case revolved around a plot by Lloyd Neurauter and his daughter Karrie Neurauter, a 20-year-old former student at the Rochester Institute of Technology.

When Karrie pleaded guilty to second-degree murder, she admitted she was confronted by her father with an ultimatum in mid-August of 2017 — she could either help him kill her mother and free him from the financial burden of child support and alimony, and give him custody of his youngest child — or he would kill himself.
