For the first time, Central New Yorkers will get to experience “the Fair” in winter.
The New York State Fairgrounds will host a new event called “Winter Fair 2019.” It promises to have “the best of the Great New York State Fair, but indoors and in mid-winter.”
“The State Fair is the best and biggest party of the summer in Upstate New York. Our goal is to create the best party of the winter by borrowing some of the elements that make the Fair so great. We know this will be a good time and a great way to push aside the mid-winter blues,” said Steve Becker of Premier Promotions, the promoter of Winter Fair.
The Winter Fair 2019 will fill the Exposition Center at the Fairgrounds with familiar fair food like sausage sandwiches and pizze frittes as well as a “Mini-Midway” with rides and amusement games.
This mini version of the Fair takes place Friday, Feb. 8 – Sunday, Feb. 10. Advance tickets go on sale Monday, Nov. 19. Admission is $4 for adults and $2 for teens and seniors. Children 12 and under will be admitted free of charge.
