Wegmans Food Markets has done it again.
For the third consecutive year, the supermarket chain based in Rochester has been ranked No. 1 on the list of the 2018 Best Workplaces in Retail. Fortune and Great Place to Work compile the annual list.
Anonymous surveys are submitted by employees at various companies across the United States.
Publix ranked No. 2 and CarMax ranked No. 3. The full list can be seen here.
“Thank goodness for our employees. They make Wegmans a happy place to work and shop” says CEO Colleen Wegman. “Their work is both meaningful and fun, and that’s an unbeatable combination.”
The surveys take into account more than 60 questions of employees say about trust and reaching their full potential at their job.
Wegmans currently has 98 stores and will be opening its 99th store next April in Virginia Beach.
