Phelps man charged with AUO, DWI, and leaving scene of crash in Junius on Halloween

The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that on Halloween at approximately 8 p.m. deputies arrested a 21-year-old Phelps man following a property damage accident on Nine Foot Road in Junius.

Mason Bowen, 21, of Phelps is accused of fleeing the scene of a property damage accident, in which his vehicle left the roadway, and entered a farm field.

Upon arrival deputies located the car, but Bowen had already left. He was located a short time later, and discovered to be intoxicated.

Bowen was also operating the vehicle with suspended license.

He was charged with first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, driving while intoxicated, and speed not reasonable.

His vehicle was towed from the scene.

Deputies say Bowen was released on his own recognizance following the arrest.
