Wayne Eagles junior Logan Lovelse recorded the game-sealing interception with 1:17 to play in the Section V Class B football semifinals as Wayne (8-1) scored 24 unanswered points to defeat Livonia (7-2). Senior Logan Blankenberg had four catches for 122 yards and a touchdown and Eagles QB Grayson Zenelvoic was 11-for-19 passing for 221 yards, one touchdown, two passing 2-point conversions and an interception. Wayne advances to the Class B Championship Game where they will face top seed Batavia who rolled over Honeoye Falls-Lima in their semifinal match-up, 29-0.

Penn Yan senior Conner Fingar, finished with 29 tackles, one fumble recovery, six catches for 32 yards and 10 carries for 28 yards but it wasn’t enough as the Mustangs fell to Letchworth/Warsaw 28-0 on Saturday afternoon in the Class C semifinal round.

In the other half of the Class C semifinal bracket, ER/Gananda saw their season end at the hands of Attica, 21-14. Senior Jayden Castrechini tallied 183 yards rushing and a rushing touchdown on 30 carries to lead East Rochester/Gananda.
