Mother takes plea deal in Seneca Falls murder case

The mother of a 3-year-old Seneca Falls boy who died earlier this year took a plea deal Tuesday in Seneca County Court.

District Attorney Barry Porsch told the Finger Lakes Times that Alison Bovio pleaded guilty to at least one charge in the death of her son, Panagiotis "Peter" Stephanides-Vacchino.

However, Porsch said he would not be releasing more details until Wednesday.

Bovio and her husband, Donald, faced numerous charges — including murder — for Peter's death. A trial for Donald Bovio is scheduled for later this year.
