The Folk Art Guild celebrates the harvest with its Open House and Apple Festival on October 13th and 14th, 11AM – 5PM both days. Admission is free at the Guild’s East Hill Farm home, 1445 Upper Hill Road in Middlesex. Signs for the East Hill Gallery on site guide visitors to the door. The artisans of the Guild will offer a wide variety of activities this year, ranging from cider pressing, pottery classes for the kids, a fresh farm lunch, and tours of the workshops. The East Hill Gallery showcases the best of the crafts from all the workshops all in one place. The organic apples grown at the Guild will be available to taste and purchase in small and large quantities, and fresh pressed cider will be flowing throughout the days.
The favorite attraction for all is the home cooked farm lunch, with soups, salad from the garden, and a choice of many tempting desserts. After lunch, families and friends can tour the East Hill Gallery, Woodshop, Weaving, Boat Shop, Graphic Arts, and stop off at the Pottery Studio for a class in hand-building clay. Returning to the farmhouse, sample the cider as it is pressed from the bountiful crop of organic apples, and buy a couple of loaves of fresh-baked bread from the Guild ovens.
