Water sampling to take place for residents impacted by August flooding

The Seneca County Health Department will be offering free bacteria water sample collections and testing for drinking water systems impacted by flash flooding in August.

On Wednesday, Sept. 26, and Wednesday, Oct. 3 homeowners will have the opportunity via appointment to get their systems tested in Lodi, Interlaken, Ovid, and Covert – where more than 9-inches of reported rainfall resulted in devastating flooding.

The sampling event will be restricted to those who were directly impacted by the flooding that have either, not previously had their water system sampled since the flood; or have sampled, but not had bacteria free results.

Those who are looking to get tested on those two dates should call (315) 539-1920 to schedule an appointment with Environmental Health Staff from the Seneca County Health Department.
