Deputies say two teens were seriously injured after a farming accident on Thursday in the Town of Benton.
Around 12:30 pm deputies were called to a farm on Preemption Road in Benton, which is located approximately 10 miles south of Geneva.
Two boys – ages 15 and 16 – were doing work around the farm when they decided to get on a motorized man lift and run it for fun.
Deputies say they didn’t know how to operate it properly or safely and both teens fell around 40 feet. Both suffered serious internal and leg injuries.
Both were airlifted to Strong Memorial Hospital.
State Police helped at the scene, along with Penn Yan Ambulance, Medic 55, and first responders from Benton and Bellona.
