One hospitalized after two-car crash in Wayne County

Deputies say a two-car accident with injuries resulted in one person being sent to the hospital.

The accident happened at the intersection of State Route 104 and State Route 21 on Tuesday around 5:38 pm in Williamson.

According to deputies, Tammy L. Robinson, 57, of Lyons was northbound on Route 21 when she struck another vehicle from behind in the intersection. The second vehicle was operated by Gary J. Barnett, 38, of Marion. He was stationary at the intersection – and as result of the collision – the Barnett vehicle’s passenger, 32-year-old Ashley Brugge was transported to Newark Wayne Community Hospital with minor injuries.

Robinson was ticketed for following too closely. Deputies say the Williamson Fire Department and Williamson Ambulance responded and assisted at the scene.
