Police: Seneca Falls duo taken into custody after domestic incident

Police say a couple, who tried to avoid capture by hiding in a closet, was taken into custody on Sunday after a domestic incident.

Around 2:30 am the Seneca Falls Police Department were called to a residence for a man and woman verbally, and physically fighting. It was determined that Justin Chilson, 33, was intoxicated and outside.

When police attempted to determine where the woman, who was reportedly involved in the incident was located, Chilson could not tell them what happened, or where their children were located.

After making several attempts to contact the woman and children inside, police entered the home. They found an 8-month-old and a 2-year-old child unattended in the living room. While searching the home, they found Ashley Maddox, 30, in a closet, also intoxicated.

As result, both were charged with two counts of criminal contempt. Maddox was also found to be in violation of an order of protection.

Chilson was released, while Maddox was held at the Seneca County Correctional Facility.
