Wayne County Sheriff Barry Virts reports that a Sodus man, who has multiple felony convictions, was arrested again stemming from an investigation into a June incident.
The arrest took place after a traffic stop on Ridge Road in Sodus. According to deputies, Robert W. Manning, 53, was stopped for traffic violations, at which point a warrant for his arrest was discovered.
Virts reports that during the search of his vehicle, a stun gun was found inside the center console. No other individuals were inside the vehicle, according to deputies.
As result Manning was charged with criminal possession of a weapon, failure to keep right, and for having an uninspected motor vehicle.
Deputies say Manning was arraigned and held at the Wayne County Jail on no bail, due to a number of previous felony convictions.
The Sheriff’s Office reports that the June incident involved Manning beating another individual with a golf club, and stealing their money. The 55-year-old victim had injuries to his legs and ribs as a result.
